Titus' MRI

Titus had his MRI on Friday. The results were negative and his spinal chord is not tethered! Praise God!

The procedure went fairly smooth. He managed to avoid being starving before he was put under, which was a relief. When they put him under, they put a gas mask over his face. He started crying and it was sad to hear his muffled cry, but we both gave him a kiss right before he fell asleep.

After that, they ushered us out and wouldn't let us see him again until they woke him up. We went and grabbed some food at the McDonald's, the most healthy food establishment at a Children's hospital ever. We ate fast because we wanted to be back in the waiting room in case something went wrong.

Nothing went wrong and they came and got us a few minutes later. When they brought him out to us, he was very hungry, but he was unable to eat because he had so much gas and was a little weak from the anesthesia. That led to a very sad and frustrating hour as he pretty much cried the whole time (in a different way than we had ever heard), unable to be consoled. Nurses didn't have any answers for us and Stacey was very frustrated and in a moment of panic she thought she would have to reteach him how to breastfeed since it seemed like he forgot how! Finally after he got some gas out and filled his diaper, he was able to eat. Once he ate, he was like his old self again, smiling and happy.

Thank you everyone for all your prayers! Being in the Children's hospital put the whole experience into perspective. If this is the worst we have to deal with, thank goodness. Many of the parents and children in the waiting room had significant ailments, diseases, etc., and we felt very sad for them and are extremely grateful that Titus is very healthy!
