Summer Baking...

This summer I wanted to learn how to bake bread. I started with a basic focaccia bread. This was really yummy. It made a lot, so I made them into croutons which were really good too.

I had a bunch of kalamata olives in my fridge, so my next bread was an Olive Bread. This was pretty good (I forgot to take a picture of mine...this photo is just from the internet, mine didn't look this nice) although the outside was a little hard.
Elizabeth Kennedy also has joined me in this endeavor and we are trying other recipies besides bread as well. So far we made granola and bagels (poppy seed, sesame and plain) together. Again, this is an internet picture. I need to get better at remembering to take a picture of what I actually make. Our bagels were good except it was a lot of work for only 12 bagels. I would probably double the batch next time.

Future projects:
Homemade English Muffins
Pugliese Bread (with whole Garlic cloves)
Mozzarella Cheese (who knew you could make this at home? Apparently it's a pretty quick process too!)
