Spring training...

For Eric's birthday I got him tickets to see the Atlanta Braves for Spring Training. The Braves' complex is at Disney's Wide World of Sports so we decided to make a weekend of it. We drove up on Friday night and stayed at one of Disney's cheap hotels: The Pop Centry hotel. It was pretty cheesy as you can tell by the picture :) There was a HUGE storm all day Friday in Gainesville and throughout northen Florida. We decided to drive to Orlando anyway because it looked pretty clear in Orlando on the weather maps. It was raining REALLY hard the whole drive there, but it was not raining when we got there, so we decided we would go to see the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. It's a hassle to park at the Magic Kingdom so we took hotel transportation. We got on a bus.....which was empty besides us, because I guess we were the only crazy people. It started to rain as soon as we got in the bus. The fireworks were supposed to start at 9 o'clock and we were JUST going to make it. As we were driving there we saw some fireworks and figured that they started early because of the rain and we would just ride the bus back to the hotel. Turns out that bus was not going back to the hotel and so we had to get off...walk in POURING rain to a different bus stop a good distance away and wait in a HUGE line for the next bus. We finally made it on about the 4th bus. So an hour later we saw no fireworks, were drenched and waited in a line for nothing. It was an adventure to say the least.


Saturday we spent the day at Animal Kingdom and our friends Dustin and Erin happened to be at Disney that day too so we all went to dinner at our favorite Disney restaurant: Boma.

We got to see the Braves and the Cardinals for spring training. It was a beautiful day and it was fun to see our first game of the season!
